WARTSILA 824TS Cylinder Liner

The cylinder liner is a core wearing component for the Wärtsilä 824TS marine diesel engine, forming the cylinder working surface for piston reciprocating movement, bearing high combustion temperature, explosive pressure and friction load during engine operation.

Manufactured by centrifugal casting of high‑grade pearlitic alloy cast iron, it features excellent wear‑resistance, thermal fatigue resistance and mechanical strength to adapt to heavy‑fuel operation conditions. It adopts proven bore‑cooling structure on upper liner section to realize efficient heat dissipation, control liner surface temperature and reduce thermal stress and thermal deformation.

Anti‑polishing ring is fitted at liner top to prevent bore‑polishing phenomenon and optimize piston‑ring running performanceWärtsilä. Precision deep‑honing treatment on inner running surface guarantees good oil‑film retention, lowers cylinder lubricating oil consumption and extends service life.
